    The Minister of Finance of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Bihi Iman Egeh, held a strategic meeting with Mr. Claver Gatete, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), on the sidelines of the 4th UN Conference on Financing for Development.

    Somalia and UNECA Discuss Progress in Fiscal Reforms

    The high-level discussion focused on Somalia’s progress in fiscal reforms, the implementation of the National Transitional Plan (NTP), and strategies to promote inclusive economic growth.

    Minister Egeh highlighted key milestones in Somalia’s reform journey and emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring that development efforts reach communities across all regions.

    Strengthening International Cooperation

    Somalia and UNECA agreed to deepen bilateral cooperation and explore targeted investment strategies aligned with Somalia’s national development goals.

    Mr. Gatete commended Somalia’s reform momentum and reaffirmed UNECA’s support for the country’s economic transformation.
