baidoa heavy clashes started suddenly in the middle of the night and woke up all the sleeping families in the town. people living in the center of the city heard very loud guns and big explosions that shook their houses. it was a very scary night because nobody knew what was happening or who was fighting. the shooting began after midnight and it did not stop for a long time. it quickly spread to major roads like road 30 which is one of the most important streets in the city where people normally go to shop and work.

everyone is very worried today because the city of baidoa is the temporary capital of the southwest state of somalia and it has many security problems. when baidoa heavy clashes happen it makes life very hard for normal people who just want to live in peace and feed their children. many families stayed on the floor of their homes to avoid stray bullets that were flying through the air. the local people are waiting for the government to tell them what happened but there is still no official statement about the damage or how many people got hurt.

What we know about the baidoa heavy clashes so far

The situation in this region is very complicated because there are many different armed groups and political problems. this is why nobody is sure yet who started the baidoa heavy clashes last night. some people think it might be different security forces fighting each other while others think it could be local groups. the local leaders have not said anything to the public yet because they are still trying to find out the truth themselves. the lack of information makes the people even more afraid because rumors spread very fast when there is silence from the officers.

because of the baidoa heavy clashes many shops closed early and people are staying inside their houses today. the streets that are usually very busy with cars and market sellers are now completely empty. people are looking out of their windows to see if it is safe to go out and buy food. this kind of violence ruins the daily life of poor citizens who need to work every single day just to survive.

The danger to local citizens in the southwest state

when fighting happens in the middle of a big city the normal citizens always suffer the most. the baidoa heavy clashes showed once again that civilian lives are always in danger when armed groups decide to fight in residential areas. there are reports that some houses were hit by big weapons and people fear that innocent bystanders including children might have been wounded during the night. the hospitals are on high alert but they do not have enough medicine if the number of injured people starts to rise today.

local elders are calling for calm and asking all the armed men to stop shooting because the city cannot take more war. they believe that the baidoa heavy clashes will only bring back the dark days of destruction and make the area unstable again. the people of this city have worked very hard to rebuild their lives and they do not want to lose everything in a single night of senseless fighting.

what will happen next in the city

the security forces are now walking around the streets trying to show that they have control of the situation. but the fear of the baidoa heavy clashes is still very high because the main political problems in the region have not been solved yet. if the leaders do not sit down and talk to each other the violence might start again tonight or tomorrow. international organizations that help the local people are also watching the situation closely because they cannot do their work if the roads are not safe.
