Like many ancient countries, the history of Somalia is also very ancient, which shows the rise and fall of many weak and powerful kings and kingdoms. Some of these powerful kingdoms include the Ajoran Kingdom, the Mogadishu Kingdom, and the Isaac Kingdom. These are the kingdoms that have contributed to Somalia’s architectural heritage and regional trade:

    1. The Sultanate of Mogadishu

If one talks about an empire that made its history in trade, one of them must be the Mogadishu Empire. From the 10th to the 16th century, the Mogadishu Empire was a major trading power in Somalia and neighboring countries. The Mogadishu Empire created its currency to dominate the regional gold trade. If there are any ancient structures in present-day southern Somalia, they are the legacy of this empire.

    1. The Ajuran Sultanate

It was a powerful empire with a brave army that ruled most of the Horn of Africa from the 13th to the late 17th century and looked after the needs of its people. It was a fortunate empire with a strong administration, excellent ministers, and a brave army. His brave army successfully resisted many large and small attacks of the Portuguese.

    1. The Isaaq Sultanate

Isaac was a far-sighted king who took trade from his country’s ports to other countries. During Isaac’s reign, his kingdom’s economy was very strong. Isaac was the king who controlled the trade routes in the port towns and cities to promote his kingdom’s trade.

    The Somali Republic

This empire did not come into existence until the British Somaliland and Italian Somaliland were united. And as soon as these two were united, then an independent state came into being in 1960 and its capital was made in Mogadishu.

    Somaliland

The independence war was fought for ten years for the existence of this state and then the independent state was declared in 1991.

Somalia is an ancient region with an ancient culture that was an important trading center in all eras. Muslims played a central role in the development and prosperity of this region from the 7th century.
