A series of intensified military operations carried out over the past 72 hours resulted in the death of 120 members from al-Shabab.
Among the dead were what he described as “prominent commanders” within the group.

Speaking to the press, Minister Ahmed Moalim Fiqi confirmed that Somali National Army (SNA) forces, supported by international partners, also captured several suspects.

He emphasized that the Somali army continues to strengthen its presence in Aden Yabal, a strategic town in the Middle Shabelle region, and has recorded “significant victories” in the ongoing offensive against the militant group.

Earlier this week, the Somali military reported killing 46 al-Shabaab fighters in an airstrike.
This airstrike was conducted in El-Hareri area of central Hiran region.

These operations are part of the broader national campaign aimed at dismantling al-Shabaab’s control across several key territories in Somalia.
