Somalia has officially unveiled its Centennial Vision 2060 (CV2060), an ambitious long-term national strategy aimed at transforming the country into an upper-middle-income economy by 2060, coinciding with the nation’s 100th year of independence.

The visionary blueprint was launched under the leadership of President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, highlighting the government’s unwavering commitment to inclusive, sustainable development and regional integration.
Developed in collaboration with both local and international experts, CV2060 represents the most comprehensive socio-economic roadmap in Somalia’s history.
The strategy is aligned with the African Union’s Agenda 2063, reinforcing Somalia’s aspirations to achieve peace, prosperity, and global competitiveness within Africa and on the international stage.
Seven Phased Plans to Drive Transformation
The Centennial Vision 2060 will be implemented through seven five-year National Transformation Plans (NTPs), starting with NTP 1.
These sequential roadmaps are designed to guide Somalia through structural reforms, economic diversification, infrastructure development, and human capital investment.
This strategic planning marks a turning point for Somalia, signaling its transition from short-term stabilization efforts to a long-term development framework anchored in national priorities and global standards.
