Indian Ocean coast is the most beautiful and important part of our land because we have the longest shoreline in all of Africa which stretches for more than 3300 kilometers along the warm blue waters. In 2026 the Indian Ocean edge is becoming the center of all our big dreams for a better life because it is where our fish come from and where the big ships from China and Europe bring the things we buy in the markets of Mogadishu.

Having such a massive Indian Ocean edge means that we are the gatekeepers of the sea and every person who lives in our country has a connection to the salt and the waves even if they live far away in the dry mountains.

This Indian Ocean edge is a gift that was given to us by nature and it has protected our people for a thousand years while also bringing us new friends and new ideas from across the horizon.

We are starting to see that the Indian Ocean edge is not just a place for a holiday but it is a massive engine for our economy that can make our nation one of the richest in the region if we use it with wisdom and care.

The Big Benefits of the Indian Ocean Coast for Our Daily Bread

One of the biggest reasons why we love the Indian Ocean edge is that it is full of tuna and lobster and many other types of seafood that can feed our families and be sold to the rest of the world for a lot of money. This part of the Indian Ocean edge is a treasure chest that never gets empty as long as we protect the water from the big illegal boats that try to steal our resources in the middle of the night. We see that the Indian Ocean edge is also the main road for the global trade because the oil tankers and the container ships have to pass by our shores to reach the Suez Canal and the Red Sea.

Another great thing about the Indian Ocean coast is that it has many natural ports like Kismayo and Berbera and Bosaso which are becoming modern hubs for business and transportation in 2026. Because of the Indian Ocean edge our youth are learning new skills like marine biology and ship engineering so they can work on the water and build a career that helps the whole country grow.

Why the Indian Ocean Coast is a Test for Our Security

Many experts in the government are saying that the Indian Ocean edge is also a big responsibility because we have to guard such a long distance from the pirates and the smugglers who want to use the waves for bad things.

This Indian Ocean edge is a challenge for our navy because they need more boats and better radar to see everything that is happening in our “Exclusive Economic Zone” which goes far out into the deep blue.

If the Indian Ocean edge is safe then the tourists from all over the world will come to see our white sand beaches and stay in our new hotels which will create thousands of jobs for the local people.

We should all hope that the Indian Ocean coast remains a place of peace where the only thing coming to our shores is friendship and wealth for the Somali people. The Indian Ocean edge is a reminder that we are a seafaring nation with a proud history of navigation and we should never turn our backs on the water that gives us so much.

Final Thoughts on Our Blue Heritage and the Years Ahead

We have to realize that the Indian Ocean coast is our biggest asset and the way we manage it today will decide how our grandchildren live in the future.

The Indian Ocean coast is a symbol of our freedom and our openness to the world and it is the window through which we see the rest of the planet. Let us all work together to keep the beaches clean and the waters safe so that the Indian Ocean coast stays as a source of pride for every Somali heart in 2026 and beyond.
