    Prime Minister of Somalia Highlights National Vision at the 3rd East African Scientific Conference

    Prime Minister of Somalia Highlights National Vision at the East African Forum

    The Prime Minister of Somalia, Mr. Hamza Abdi Barre, participated in the Third East African Scientific Development Conference Forum.

    During the forum, he delivered a keynote address emphasizing the importance of institutional development, public awareness, and evidence-based planning in supporting Somalia’s national transformation efforts.

    National Transformation Plan and Vision 2060

    During his remarks at the forum, Prime Minister of Somalia stated that the success of state-building is rooted in strengthening national institutions and establishing well-researched, strategic policies based on scientific research and practical analysis.

    He noted that both the National Transformation Plan (2025–2029) and Somalia’s Centennial Vision 2060 serve as clear roadmaps for achieving long-term growth and stability in the country.

    “Our country is being guided toward research-based development, as clearly outlined in the National Transformation Plan and Vision 2060,” said the Prime Minister.

    Prime Minister of Somalia Calls Somali Scholars to Shape the Nation’s Future

    Hamza Abdi Barre called on Somali scientists and researchers to play a central role in shaping the nation’s future by conducting research that addresses key development priorities, such as:

    • Poverty reduction
    • Climate change adaptation
    • Education sector reform
    • Improved access to healthcare
    • Peacebuilding and stabilization strategies

    “The Somali government has outlined a national vision grounded in comprehensive research. Scholars and leaders must actively engage in determining Somalia’s place in the future,” the Prime Minister stressed.

    Investing in Youth and Natural Resources

    Prime Minister of Somalia also highlighted the importance of investing in the country’s natural resources and empowering Somali youth, describing them as the driving force behind sustainable development.

    He affirmed that the government is operating under a clear national strategy that responds to practical needs and builds toward long-term resilience.
