Puntland has launched the final phase of its campaign against ISIS in the Kil Maskad Mountains, aimed at clearing the area of militants and re-establishing control of local authorities. The operation is a decisive step in eliminating ISIS activities, which is expected to restore peace and stability.

Through this operation, Puntland is seeking to weaken the power of the rebel group and establish lasting peace in the region. The campaign is an important step in addressing the growing threat of terrorism, with the aim of restoring stability and security in the region.

Progress and Challenges in the Anti-ISIS Campaign in Puntland

Since the start of the campaign against ISIS in Puntland, security forces have killed more than 100 militants, but an estimated 20% of the fighters are still active in the region. While military operations have made progress, logistical and financial difficulties are delaying the complete eradication of the terrorist group.

Strategic Objectives of Puntland’s Anti-ISIS Campaign in Cal Miskaad Mountains

The operation against ISIS in the Kal Muscad mountains aims to eliminate the militants’ safe havens. According to reports, security forces have so far cleared 80% of the areas under the control of the terrorists, and 30 military operations have been launched during this time, with an emphasis on securing key roads and cutting off the enemy’s supply lines.

Impact of the Final Phase of the Anti-ISIS Campaign on Regional Security

As the operation against ISIS approaches its final phase, military officials have reported a 40% reduction in ISIS activity in the area. The local population has seen a significant reduction in militant attacks, but the full success of the campaign depends on strengthening security and preventing the militants from regrouping in remote areas.

The ongoing operation against ISIS in the Kal Muscad Mountains of Puntland has made significant progress, resulting in a 40% reduction in militant activity. However, for the operation to be fully successful, it is essential that military pressure is maintained and stable government rule is established in the cleared areas.

The final phase is crucial to eliminating the effects of ISIS and providing lasting peace and stability in the region. An effective post-operation strategy will play a decisive role in preventing the reactivation of the insurgents.
