    Somali security forces have foiled a 24-hour-long Al-Shabaab attack on the Cairo Hotel in Baldwin, killing all the attackers. The attack began with loud explosions and heavy gunfire, targeting government officials and civilians. The attack resulted in the deaths of several security personnel and people inside the hotel, while many others were injured. Authorities have vowed to take stricter measures against terrorists and further strengthen security following the incident.

    How the Attack Unfolded: A Timeline of Events

    Al-Shabaab militants stormed the Cairo Hotel in Baldwin, setting off a 24-hour siege with loud explosions and gunfire. At least three loud explosions were heard near the hotel before the attackers entered, according to reports. Witnesses said more than 10 gunmen were involved in the attack, who directly targeted government officials and civilians inside the hotel.

    Security Response: How Somali Forces Neutralized the Threat

    Somali security forces responded with full force, killing all the attackers after a 24-hour intense battle. About 50 special forces, supported by intelligence units, took part in the operation. According to officials, at least 15 people were rescued safely, while security personnel also suffered casualties in the exchange of gunfire.

    Impact and Aftermath: Casualties, Damage, and Government Response

    At least 20 people, including security personnel, civilians and hotel staff, were killed in the attack, while dozens were injured. According to authorities, the hotel and surrounding buildings suffered severe damage, which could cost millions of dollars. Following the incident, the government has decided to deploy more than 200 additional soldiers to Baldwin and make security operations more stringent and effective to prevent such attacks in the future.

    The 24-hour siege by Al-Shabaab militants on the Cairo Hotel in Baldwine is a testament to the resilience and resilience of Somali security forces in the face of terrorist attacks. Although all the attackers were foiled in the operation, the casualties and destruction highlighted the importance of further strengthening security and intelligence measures in the country.
