Mozambique Football Federation announced on Tuesday that its match against the Somali national team will take place in Algeria, without revealing the exact stadium.
This decision comes as Somalia currently lacks stadiums suitable for hosting official international matches.
The game is part of Round 10 of the qualifiers, marking Somalia’s final match in this qualification phase.
Who Will Face Mozambique Before Somalia?
Before facing the Somali National Team, Mozambique will host Guinea Conakry at the “Estádio do Zimpeto” in Maputo for Round 9 of the qualifiers.
Mozambican coach Chiquinho Conde announced an extended squad of 39 players in preparation for these two matches.
Rounds 9 and 10
Algerian Football Federation President Walid Sadi confirmed that arrangements were coordinated with Somali Football Federation President Ali Abdi Mohamed to host the matches in Algeria.
The agreement was made during the Arab Football Federation’s General Assembly in Riyadh, based on a proposal from Somali officials.
Rounds 9 and 10 of the qualifiers are scheduled between October 6 and 14, 2025, offering the Somali National Team a crucial opportunity to improve its standing in the competition.
