    On Tuesday, India provided 10 tons of essential medicines, marking a significant step in enhancing the Somalia healthcare system.

    The handover ceremony took place at Mogadishu Port, attended by Somali Minister of Health Ali Haj Adam and representatives from the Indian Embassy in Nairobi.

    The Indian delegation included Sudheep Kolasari, Second Secretary, and Antara Haldar, Attaché, who emphasized India’s ongoing commitment to supporting Somalia’s health sector.

    India is Proud to Support Somalia Healthcare System

    Kolasari stated, “India is proud to support Somalia’s healthcare sector through this biomedical aid. This partnership reflects our dedication to improving the quality of healthcare services in the country.”

    Haldar added, “This assistance symbolizes the strong friendship between India and Somalia.
    Access to quality healthcare is a basic right, and India stands with Somalia in supporting its health services.”

    Minister Ali Haj Adam expressed his gratitude to India, describing the medical aid as a significant boost for healthcare services in Somalia.

    Strengthening Somalia Healthcare System Amid Challenges

    Somalia continues to face serious healthcare challenges, including limited infrastructure and shortages of essential medicines.

    This initiative is part of a broader partnership between India and Somalia, highlighting India’s role in development assistance, capacity building, and humanitarian support.

    In recent years, India has contributed to Somalia’s education, health, and disaster relief sectors, reflecting a long-term commitment to the country’s stability and growth.

    The delivery of 10 tons of medical supplies underscores India’s broader efforts to strengthen bilateral ties. India’s support extends to:
