In response to recent military challenges, Somalia President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud conducted a working visit to the Ministry of Defense headquarters in Mogadishu.

- Addressing the structural challenges within the Somali National Army (SNA)
Significant Loses For SNA in Galmudug and Hirshabelle
Somalia President received briefings on the ongoing military operations and the setbacks faced by the SNA.
Particularly in regions like Galmudug and Hirshabelle.
These areas have seen increased activity from Al-Shabaab militants, leading to significant losses for the Somali forces.
Somali President Highlights the Importance of Unity and Coordination
President Mohamud emphasized the need for reforms within the military.
Highlighting the importance of unity and coordination between the federal forces and regional administrations.
He also stressed the urgency of addressing issues such as illegal checkpoints that hinder agricultural productivity and economic growth in regions like Middle and Lower Shabelle.
This visit underscores the Somali government’s commitment to strengthening its defense capabilities and ensuring the safety and security of its citizens amid ongoing threats from extremist groups.
