Google has officially launched its AI business calling feature across the United States, allowing users to contact local businesses—without ever picking up the phone.
Integrated directly into Google Search, this tool enables users to request pricing and availability information through AI, streamlining everyday tasks like booking pet grooming, dry cleaning, or auto repair services.
How Google AI Business Calling Feature Works?
When users search for services such as “pet groomers near me,” a new prompt appears: “Have AI check pricing.”
After selecting it, Google’s AI asks for relevant details—like pet type, breed, desired services, and preferred communication method (email or text).
The AI then makes the call using Gemini-powered Duplex technology, clearly identifying itself as an automated system from Google.
Once the business responds, users receive updates via text or email with available times and pricing options—no human interaction required.
Designed for Convenience, Especially for Gen Z
Google AI business calling feature is expected to resonate with younger users, many of whom experience telephobia or discomfort with phone calls.
By automating the process, Google offers a seamless, low-stress way to handle appointments and inquiries.

Business Control and Subscription Perks
Local businesses can opt out of receiving AI calls via their Google Business Profile settings.
While the feature is available to all Search users in the US, Google AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers benefit from higher usage limits, making it ideal for frequent users or enterprise-level needs.
Gemini 2.5 Pro and Deep Search: Smarter AI Mode
Alongside the AI business calling feature, Google is rolling out Gemini 2.5 Pro in AI Mode, offering enhanced capabilities in reasoning, math, and coding.
Subscribers can select this model via a drop-down menu in Labs.
Additionally, Google is testing Deep Search, which performs multi-step queries and builds comprehensive reports by reasoning through hundreds of search results.
