    A CALL FOR PEACE: A STATEMENT FROM MINISTER OF INTERIOR

    A call for peace, The Ministry of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation of the Federal Government of Somalia today issued a call for peace condemning the civil conflicts that have occurred in some parts of the country, which have caused significant loss of life and property.

    A CALL FOR PEACE: OPPOSING VIOLENCE AGAINST THE RELIGION AND CULTURE

    A call for peace, the statement issued by the ministry, dated November 9, 2025, stated that the ministry strongly opposes killings, targeting and in general any violence against the Islamic religion and Somali culture.

    The ministry called for an unconditional end to the wars and bloodshed, and for security agencies to take immediate action to control those behind the heinous acts of inciting society and inciting conflict.

    A GENERAL CALL FOR THE SOCIETY

    A call for peace, the Ministry of Interior also called on the member states of the Federal Government, traditional elders, scholars, and women to play a prominent role in settling the situation and resolving conflicts peacefully, while preserving the unity and solidarity of the Somali people.

    Finally, the ministry prayed to God to grant the souls of those who lost their lives in the fighting to rest in peace and grant their families patience and faith, while reiterating its commitment to continuing efforts for peace and reconciliation throughout the country.

    A call for peace, the announcement by the Ministry of Interior comes at a time when the country’s regions, especially the Galgaduud and Lower Shabelle regions, are experiencing clan-based conflicts, culminating in a painful incident that occurred yesterday in the Wanlaweyn area where an elderly man was beheaded and burned to death.
