The government needs to wake up and improve these public schools because right now they are doing a terrible job covering basic learning needs. Most parents who send their kids to public schools realize that the quality is super low and teachers often do not even show up.

How education in Somalia can benefit from private sector help

Public schools run by the state are failing badly right now and everybody knows it. The state lacks the money to build new classrooms or pay good monthly salaries to teachers. On the other hand private school owners have the money and management skills to run clean modern schools with good discipline. By joining hands the government can provide land or legal permits while private businesses build the facilities and manage daily operations.

This model allows education in Somalia to reach tiny villages and rural areas where government presence is completely absent. Private partners can also bring computers internet access and modern books into classrooms that currently have nothing but dusty floors. The government needs to step up its role by supervising these private partners to make sure they do not overcharge poor families. With proper government rules education in Somalia can become much fairer and accessible to every child regardless of how much money their family makes.

Fixing the weak state system through smart investment

It is no secret that public education in the country is weak and needs serious repairs from the top leadership down. The state must admit its failure in providing basic learning and start welcoming private investments with open arms. When private companies invest in building classrooms and training centers they create jobs for young graduates who want to teach.

In return the country gets an educated generation that can build roads manage hospitals and run businesses in the future. We cannot expect education in Somalia to improve if we keep relying on the weak government budget alone. The private sector has already proven that it can deliver results when given the freedom to operate efficiently.

Furthermore international donors and local businessmen can create special funds to support children who cannot afford private tuition. The government can offer tax breaks to any company that builds a free school in a poor neighborhood.

In conclusion fixing the broken school network requires immediate action from both public leaders and private investors. The state has neglected public learning for far too long and it is high time for a change. By combining state regulation with private money education in Somalia can finally reach the high quality level that young citizens deserve. Working together is the only real way to rescue the learning system and build a brighter tomorrow for the whole nation.
