Due to the attacks of terrorist organizations like al-Shabaab in Somalia and mutual conflicts, the roads, ports, and airports here are severely damaged. The government lacks resources and funds which it cannot spend on construction works. This is the reason why access to education and health institutions is not easy here.

Construction works in some areas have improved due to foreign investment, but these challenges are still creating obstacles to Somalia’s economic and social development. To improve the basic infrastructure here, it is necessary to bring political stability and eliminate unrest in the country. And this can only happen with international support.

Destruction of Key Transportation Networks During Conflict

Terrorism, unrest, and conflict in Somalia have caused major transportation disasters. Every terrorist attack takes place in public places where financial and human losses occur. Organizations like al-Shabaab have changed the structure of Somalia. Nothing is getting better here due to political instability.

The lack of infrastructure has adversely affected the economy of Somalia. The biggest obstacle in the way of Somalia’s development is the broken infrastructure here. The government of Somalia does not have enough resources and funds to restore the transportation system by contracting the infrastructure here. Therefore, these challenges can be tackled only with international support and foreign investment.

Challenges in Financing and Rebuilding Somalia’s Infrastructure

The lack of funds is due to political instability and a lack of peace and order in Somalia. The Somali government does not have enough resources to improve infrastructure by spending money on construction works. Terrorist organizations have damaged the infrastructure of Somalia.

It is now necessary to promote foreign investment in Somalia and provide financial and military assistance so that Somalia can successfully fight these challenges. Poor infrastructure is hindering the development of Somalia. For its livelihood and economic development, it is necessary to develop the infrastructure here again and this is impossible without foreign investment.

Role of International Aid and Local Initiatives in Reconstruction

International aid is of special importance in the reconstruction of Somalia. Because the Somali government lacks resources and funds are also limited, the distribution of these funds cannot be done properly. Due to a lack of funds and resources, Somalia cannot spend on construction work in its country. Due to conflicts, roads, bridges, ports, and airports are damaged here.

Their reconstruction is possible with foreign investment because the Somali government does not have enough financial power to spend on them by itself. The public and private sectors are in shambles and need to be rebuilt. Only then will economic and economic development of Somalia be possible.

Somalia is making efforts for its livelihood and economic development. But some things are necessary due to which his livelihood can be improved. First, the political instability and terrorism here should be ended. And international investment should be promoted. The infrastructure here should be improved, and the transportation system should also be improved. Then Somalia can improve economically and economically.
