    Women play an important role in Somali society in areas such as education, health, and business. Despite violence against women in Somali society, Somali women actively participate in social activities. Despite facing various challenges and a lack of resources, Somali women are doing their best in many fields.

    In 2020, more than 60% of women participated and played an important role in the reconstruction of the nation. According to the World Bank, social women make up 30.40% of the workforce in Somali society. Somali women are contributing to the country’s economic development through small sectors such as agriculture and community initiatives. Women are a very important part of Somali society.

    Women’s Economic Contributions

    Somali women actively participate in every sector of social development. Especially through small businesses and agriculture, contribute to the development of the economy. Women face many challenges to participate in these activities. But still rural and urban women, facing challenges, are participating in social development.

    Somali women are most prominent in sectors such as livestock farming, trade, and food production. These activities of Somali women stabilize the economy and are a very important part of the development of the Somali economy.

    Gender Equality and Empowerment

    In Somalia, steps are being taken to ensure gender-based justice and access to modern resources for women. Many efforts are being made to increase women’s health care, legal rights, and education initiatives. Women are an important part of Somali society. Without them, the country’s economy is incomplete.

    Many Somali communities are making many efforts to represent women in power and decision-making roles so that the gender gap can be closed, and women can easily participate in the economy and development of Somalia. Women actively participate in all these activities and highlight their role in the development of Somali society.

    Peacebuilding and Social Development

    Somali women have a very important role in the peace and social development of Somali society. Women are playing an important role in the economy and social development of the country by participating in various small-scale activities. Social women lead grassroots initiatives and dialogues for peacebuilding.

    In Somali society, women are the most advocates of peace building and actively participate in these activities. Due to the involvement of women in these activities, harmony is strengthened, and the social development of the country is stabilized.

    Despite the many challenges faced by Somali women, they are striving to rebuild and develop the country. Who are participating in the development of the country’s economy by participating in sectors such as business and agriculture. Women are contributing more than 30% of the workforce. The involvement of women in social peace building is continuously increasing. 60% of women are participating in informal economic activities.

    Empowerment of women is very important for national development and access to resources is also important. Both rural and urban women have a prominent role in Somali culture and economy. Therefore, efforts are being made to close the gender gap so that women can contribute more to the country’s economy.
