Puntland’s security forces have discovered mass graves in the Al Muscat Mountains during the ongoing campaign against ISIS. According to the preliminary investigation, the bodies of those people, who were brutally killed by the militants, are buried in these graves.

Officials believe the sites have long been used to eliminate hostages and defected fighters. This revelation exposes the brutality of ISIS and reinforces Puntland’s efforts to end terrorism.

Mass Graves Uncovered in Puntland’s Anti-ISIS Operation

Puntland security forces have discovered more than 10 mass graves in the Al Muscat Mountains during their recent operation against ISIS. According to preliminary investigations, the remains of at least 50 people, who were brutally killed by militants, are found in these graves.

More than 1,500 soldiers participated in the operation, which led to the capture of several key ISIS hideouts. According to intelligence reports, these locations have been used by ISIS for more than five years to store insurgents and hostages.

Mass Graves Reveal Evidence of ISIS Atrocities

Forensic investigations revealed that 70 percent of the victims were shot dead, while the rest showed signs of severe torture. According to local authorities, more than 500 people have been killed by ISIS militants since 2015.

Eyewitnesses say 80 percent of those buried were civilians or people suspected of being informers. The discovery has seen a 40 percent increase in investigations into past ISIS crimes, further accelerating counter-terrorism operations.

Mass Graves Discovery Strengthens Counter-Terrorism Efforts

Following the revelation, the Puntland government vowed to launch 30 percent more security operations in ISIS-held areas. Intelligence sharing between regional forces to identify terrorist leaders has been increased by 50 percent.

Over the past six months, Puntland forces have conducted more than 25 counter-terrorism raids, capturing or killing more than 100 Daesh fighters. The government is now making diplomatic efforts to secure $10 million in international aid to improve investigative capabilities and forensic analysis.

The discovery of mass graves in Puntland reveals the brutality of ISIS and further highlights the urgent need for counter-terrorism. Authorities are stepping up operations to eliminate militant groups and prevent further bloodshed.
