More than 1,500 soldiers participated in the operation, which led to the capture of several key ISIS hideouts. According to intelligence reports, these locations have been used by ISIS for more than five years to store insurgents and hostages.

Mass Graves Reveal Evidence of ISIS Atrocities
Forensic investigations revealed that 70 percent of the victims were shot dead, while the rest showed signs of severe torture. According to local authorities, more than 500 people have been killed by ISIS militants since 2015.
