For the third consecutive day, mass protests in the USA have continued.
They started in Los Angeles, California, spreading to other U.S. states in response to recent immigration raids.

The Story of Mass Protests in the USA?

The demonstrations were triggered by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arresting at least 44 individuals accused of violating immigration laws.

These arrests are part of a wider and controversial immigration crackdown led by President Donald Trump, who has vowed to deport record numbers of undocumented immigrants during his second term.

The White House reportedly set a target of detaining at least 3,000 immigrants daily through ICE operations.

Houston and San Antonio Join the Mass Protests in the USA

In Houston, police blocked intersections near Dunlavy Street to ensure protesters could march safely. Police units escorted crowds from one park to another, monitoring the situation closely, according to FOX 26.

Meanwhile, in San Antonio, over 200 people gathered outside City Hall on Sunday to protest ICE’s recent detentions both in Texas and nationwide.

The protests in Texas followed two days of unrest in Los Angeles, where violent clashes broke out between demonstrators and law enforcement.

Trump Deploys National Guard to Quell Mass Protests in the USA

In response to growing unrest, President Trump ordered 2,000 National Guard troops to be deployed, including 300 soldiers stationed in Los Angeles to guard a federal detention center downtown.

This marks the first time since 1965 that a U.S. president deployed the National Guard to a state without a request from its governor.

California Pushes Back: “A Manufactured Crisis”

California Governor Gavin Newsom sharply criticized the deployment, stating it was not based on unmet needs but rather a politically motivated effort to “fabricate a crisis.”

He vowed to sue the Trump administration, accusing the president of seeking chaos to justify repression.

U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders also condemned the move, warning that Trump is turning America into an authoritarian state by silencing dissent.

Democratic Congresswoman Nanette Barragán called the deployment “an unnecessary escalation,” noting that local police had already contained the protests.

Dozens Arrested at Mass Protests in the USA.

In total, California Highway Patrol arrested 17 people trying to block Highway 101, while Los Angeles Police detained 27 individuals for failing to disperse during downtown clashes.

The LAPD later declared all of downtown Los Angeles an unlawful assembly, urging residents to evacuate the area immediately.

The mass protests in the USA caused widespread disruptions to public transportation, including the suspension of train services on the A and B lines and rerouting of several major bus lines.

Protest Signs: “ICE Out of LA”

Protesters carried signs reading “ICE Out of LA,” targeting the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency, a branch of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security responsible for immigration law enforcement.

As public outcry grows, more demonstrations spread in the USA, even in Boston, Massachusetts marking a coast-to-coast reaction to what many see as an aggressive and unjust immigration policy.
