Somalia’s National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA), in partnership with international allies, has intensified its counterterrorism campaign.
It launched a series of successful operations in Hiiraan, Middle Shabelle, and Galgaduud regions.
Over the past three days, the operations resulted in the deaths of at least 11 al-Shabaab fighters.
It also destroyed their vehicles and military equipment.
National Intelligence and Security Agency Targets Senior Leaders of al-Shabaab
According to a statement released on Saturday, NISA forces targeted a compound in Tardo, Hiiraan, where senior al-Shabaab leaders were holding a meeting.
The strike killed seven militants and destroyed the facility.
In Daarunimca, Middle Shabelle, NISA troops foiled a planned attack on Civil Defense Forces, eliminating four fighters.
Including Abdullahi Ganeey, a long-time al-Shabaab commander active since 2009.

In Nooleeye, Galgaduud, security forces destroyed a vehicle carrying military equipment destined for attacks in El-Dher district.
The strike neutralized the threat and eliminated the militants on board.
NISA emphasized that its operations against al-Shabaab will continue with the support of international partners to reinforce national security, stability, and counterterrorism efforts across Somalia.
