The 8th Battalion of the Somali National Army 60th Division, supported by the Southwest State Darwish Battalion, carried out a planned military operation targeting Al-Shabaab militants in several villages in the Bay region.
The operation resulted in the destruction of key strongholds used by the militants to coordinate their terrorist activities.
This mission is part of ongoing efforts to eliminate threats and strengthen security in the area.
Lieutenant Colonel Abdirahman Nisho Ali, along with Darwish Battalion Commander Major Ibrahim Abdullahi, confirmed that the operation aimed to secure the targeted villages, reinforce local government authority, and ensure the safety of residents.
Military leaders also noted that the operation was conducted with the support and cooperation of local residents, which significantly contributed to its success and the achievement of its goals with high efficiency.
