Somalia has commenced its Hajj operations 2025 with the departure of the first group of 431 pilgrims from Mogadishu’s Aden Adde International Airport.

- Supervisory Teams: Deployment of clerics, doctors, and administrators to Saudi Arabia ensures that pilgrims receive adequate support throughout their journey.
- Pre-Departure Training: Workshops focusing on health, safety, and Hajj rites have been conducted to prepare pilgrims for the spiritual journey.
Somalia Hajj 2025- How Much is the Cost?
However, the cost of the pilgrimage remains a concern.
The official Hajj package for Somali pilgrims is set at $4,604, a modest increase from last year’s $4,434.
This price is significantly higher compared to neighboring countries, where packages range from $1,600 to $2,000, leading to public frustration and calls for reform.
In terms of logistics, Somali pilgrims are traveling from various airports across the country, including Hargeisa, Puntland, and Mogadishu.
The organized transportation of pilgrims is scheduled to continue until May 31st.
When will Hajj Season Start in 2025?
The Hajj pilgrimage for 2025 is expected to take place between June 4th and June 9th, depending on the sighting of the moon.
Notably, the reopening of the Dolow airstrip in the Gedo region on May 11, 2025, has facilitated better connectivity for pilgrims from that area, especially ahead of the Hajj season.
