    The Federal Government of Somalia, in coordination with the United States Africa Command (AFRICOM), has carried out a targeted airstrike aimed at neutralizing members of the ISIS terrorist group within Somali territory.

    According to the Somali National News Agency (SONNA), the operation took place on Monday approximately 70 kilometers southeast of the city of Bosaso, located in Bari region, Puntland State.

    The operation — which remains ongoing — focuses on gathering intelligence regarding enemy casualties and achieving its mission objective: to support Puntland’s Darawish forces in eliminating ISIS cells in the region.

    The Somali federal government praised its strong collaboration with international partners, particularly the United States, emphasizing that such partnerships are critical to ensuring peace, stability, and the fight against terrorist groups threatening Somalia and the Horn of Africa.
