A high-level roundtable meeting aimed at enhancing Somalia and China cooperation was held on Sunday at Decale Hotel in Mogadishu under the theme “Mutual Support and Joint Efforts — Strengthen China–Somalia Cooperation.”
Who Organized This Meeting?
Organized by the Chinese Embassy in Somalia, the event brought together senior Somali officials, scholars, and media representatives to explore opportunities for stronger collaboration. 
Participants included Deputy Minister of Health Mohamed Hassan Mohamed, State Minister of Family and Human Rights Mohamed Osman Omar, and Deputy Prime Minister Mahdi Mohamed Gulaid.

What Are the Three Pillars of Somalia and China Partnership?
In his remarks, Chargé d’Affaires Chen Wendi praised the discussions as “productive and meaningful,” reaffirming the deep-rooted friendship between the two nations.
Speakers emphasized three pillars of the partnership:
- Mutual support for sovereignty
- Expanding economic cooperation
- Boosting trade through China’s zero-tariff policy on Somali exports
Somali leaders highlighted China’s role in infrastructure, education, and health development, stressing that cooperation should remain practical and results-oriented.
The event coincided with the 64th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Somalia and China, reinforcing their shared vision for mutual growth, peace, and prosperity in the years ahead.
