    Somalia National Environment and Climate Change Summit kicked off today.
    The summit was inaugurated by Acting Deputy Prime Minister Salah Jama.

    Who Attends Somalia National Environment and Climate Change Summit?

    The multi-day summit gathers key stakeholders from across sectors, including government officials, civil society, youth representatives, and private sector leaders.
    In order to accelerate Somalia’s national climate resilience strategy.

    Goals

    The summit aims to reinforce Somalia’s commitment to sustainable development, climate adaptation, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

    It serves as a collaborative platform to align national climate priorities with international frameworks.
    While tackling urgent environmental challenges such as drought, deforestation, and land degradation.

    Acting Deputy Prime Minister Opens National Environment and Climate Change Summit

    During his opening remarks, Deputy Prime Minister Salah Jama stressed the importance of united action across all sectors of society.

    “Somalia’s future depends on our ability to work together for climate resilience.
    This summit represents a vital step forward in developing inclusive and sustainable environmental policies,” he said.

    The event includes expert panels, workshops, and stakeholder consultations, all focused on shaping effective and practical solutions to Somalia’s unique environmental and climate-related challenges.
