Somalia is a backward and poor country, where there is a lack of resources, but this country has an excellent strategic position by nature, Somalia is the only country in the entire Horn of Africa that provides access to international shipping from the coast of the Indian Ocean. Somalia is important for maritime trade between Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, and if it can find a solution to its internal problems, it can be rich in international trade.

To learn more about Somalia’s strategic position in the Horn of Africa, we first learn about a few points

    Geopolitical Importance:

Somalia is the star of the eyes of many countries for international trade because this country is located at the junction of the Red Sea, the Indian Ocean, and the Gulf of Aden, where the fleets of many countries pass through. This country is therefore of special importance for sea traffic and exists as an important transit.

These are the reasons why many Arab countries have started special aid activities for this country and this country is also the first choice for international organizations. Geographically, this country has a special political importance.

    Economic and Trade Significance:

Somalia is a country with large ports for international trade, which connects Europe, the Middle East, and Asia for trade. This country is an excellent transit for sea traffic. Its port in Mogadishu is one of the busiest ports in the world. So, Somalia is geographically very important for all other countries.

    Security and Regional Stability:

Unfortunately, the terrorist activities in Somalia are having a bad impact on its economic and regional stability. For this reason, Somalia is deprived of foreign capital despite its geographical importance. And that is why there is unemployment and poverty in Somalia.  If this situation of unrest is controlled, the destiny of this country can change. Sea piracy also adversely affects international trade. The existence of these terrorist groups is a serious challenge to the security and stability of Somalia, and the military and military cooperation of neighboring countries must deal with it. Financial aid is very important.

At present, Somalia has a special strategic position geographically in the entire Horn of Africa. It has excellent ports that connect Europe, Asia, and the Middle East for trade. Somalia is a great player in providing international trade routes. However, due to the terrorist activities and security challenges here, it has a bad impact on its national integrity, economic and commercial importance. Foreign investment needs to deal with these challenges. And to deal with these challenges, foreign military and financial assistance is greatly needed.
