A 24 hour port operation, the Federal Government of Somalia has announced that the Mogadishu Port will operate 24/7.
The Minister of Ports of the Federal Government, Abdulqadir Mohamed Nur Jama, said that the work of the Mogadishu Port has been changed, and from now on it will operate 24/7.
1 24 HOUR PORT OPERATION: THE STABILITY OF THE PORT

A 24 hour port operation, he pointed out to the Minister of Ports and Maritime Transport of Somalia that the security changes have led to the Mogadishu Port being able to operate 24/7.
“We are pleased to announce that the Mogadishu Port will officially start operating at night from tonight onwards, which means that the port will provide continuous and uninterrupted service. This has enabled us to maintain security in the capital,” said the Minister of Ports and Maritime Transport of the Federal Government of Somalia, Abdulqadir Mohamed Nuur.

A 24 hour port operation, Minister Jama also noted that the 24-hour operation of the Port will eliminate the burdens and congestion in the work that existed inside the main port of Mogadishu.
“The 24-hour operation will reduce congestion and delays in shipping services, it will also increase the competitiveness of the Port in terms of the services it provides and increase government revenue. We are pleased to announce to Somali businessmen that the port services have now become regular and facilitate business activities,” said Minister of Ports and Maritime Transport Abdulqadir Mohamed Nur Jama.
THE DECISION OF THE STEP

A 24 hour port operation, the Minister noted that this decision came from the proposal of senior government officials such as the President and Prime Minister and the Manager of the Mogadishu Port, and after a long wait, the Port has been made operational day and night.
“This is part of the Ministry’s plan to develop the Port of Mogadishu and other ports in the country, based on the vision of the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, His Excellency Dr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, and the program of the Danqaran Government led by His Excellency Prime Minister Hamsa Abdi Barre,” said the Minister of Ports and Maritime Transport of Somalia, Abdulqadir Mohamed Nur Jama.

The Manager of the Port of Mogadishu, Mohamed Ali Nur Amerika, said that this step is a great opportunity to reduce the congestion and congestion on the main roads of Mogadishu, which often become jams during heavy traffic periods leaving the Port of Mogadishu.
