German newspaper Bild has reported that Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala sustained a fractured fibula during his team’s quarter-final match against Paris Saint-Germain in FIFA Club World Cup.

The injury is expected to sideline the young talent for an extended period.

    How Did Musiala Injury Happened?

The injury occurred when Jamal Musiala twisted his leg severely while challenging PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma and defender Willian Pacho for the ball.

Donnarumma was visibly shocked, covering his face, while players from both teams appeared stunned as Musiala was substituted.

The match ended in a 2-0 victory for PSG, eliminating Bayern Munich from the tournament.

    Jamal Musiala Expected Recovery:

Musiala also suffered ligament damage alongside the fibula fracture.
According to Bild, his recovery could take up to five months.

Bayern Munich has not yet issued an official medical update, but football director Max Eberl hinted that Musiala may undergo surgery in the United States and will not return to Germany with the team on Sunday.

    Previous Injury History

Musiala had previously missed 71 days due to a muscle tear at the end of last season.

    Support from Bayern and Rivals

Max Eberl pledged full support to Jamal Musiala, stating:

“We’ll stand by him like a family, supporting and guiding him through what will undoubtedly be a tough journey.”

The Bayern squad has returned to their training base in Orlando and is scheduled to fly back to Germany later on Sunday.

Musiala is expected to travel with the team, though no official confirmation has been made.

Eberl, speaking from Atlanta, confirmed the likelihood of surgery and described Musiala as “deeply saddened and devastated.”

Borussia Dortmund’s sporting director Sebastian Kehl also expressed sympathy, saying: “It’s a terrible situation.

I wish him all the best—this won’t be an easy time, but he’s strong enough to come back.”
