    Mogadishu security forces carried out a targeted field operation today in the Taraboonka area of Hodan District, aimed at securing neighborhoods and curbing the spread of unlicensed weapons in the Somali capital.

    Brief Exchange of Gunfire

    According to security officials, the operation escalated into an armed clash after forces encountered a group of militias, leading to a brief exchange of gunfire.

    The confrontation resulted in casualties, including civilian deaths and injuries among nearby residents, as well as injuries to security personnel and some militia members.

    Mogadishu Security Forces Regains Control

    Mogadishu Security Forces confirmed that security forces successfully regained full control of the area, expelling the armed group from the site.

    In a statement, the security forces expressed deep regret over the loss of civilian lives, extending condolences to the affected families.
