Dr. Abdirahman Ali Awale “Habeeb,” Chairman of Habeeb Psychiatric Hospital, arrived in Adado with a dedicated medical team to provide specialized treatment and consultations for patients suffering from mental and psychological disorders.

The initiative was warmly welcomed by local health officials, including Mr. Sharif Fagaso, Director of Habeeb Hospital’s Adado branch.

Speaking to national television, Mr. Fagaso highlighted that the program has already benefited multiple patients and will continue throughout the team’s stay, reinforcing mental health support in the region.

Expanding Mental Health Services Across Somalia

Dr. Abdirahman emphasized the hospital’s ongoing commitment to mental healthcare, noting that its first facility, inaugurated in May 2024, has treated nearly 900 patients from various regions, including Somalia’s Puntland and Somaliland states as well as Ethiopia’s Somali region.

The current visit marks the launch of a month-long intensive treatment program in Adado, led by a full medical team of psychiatrists, psychologists, and support staff.

The program is designed to offer comprehensive care, from diagnosis and therapy to rehabilitation, catering to both chronic and acute mental health conditions.
