France Arab matches have always created a lot of excitement and unforgettable moments for football fans across the globe. Right now the world is getting ready for a massive game in the 2026 World Cup because France will play against Morocco in the quarterfinals. The French team managed to qualify after a very difficult and hot match against Paraguay in Philadelphia. On the other side Morocco is ready to fight hard under their manager Mohamed Wehbe. This game will take place on Thursday in Boston and it is going to be a huge rematch of the 2022 semifinal where France won two zero.

The Moroccan players really want to get revenge this time and prove they can beat the former world champions. However history shows that these games usually end well for the French team as they have used these victories to go far in past tournaments.

France Arab matches and the legendary history

Looking at old France Arab matches shows that the European powerhouse has a long record against teams from the Arab world. In fact this upcoming game in Boston will be the sixth time that France faces an Arab country in the history of the World Cup. Before this big event there were five historical games that fans still talk about today. The very first one happened more than forty years ago during the 1982 World Cup in Spain.

The story of France Arab matches started way back in 1982 when France played against Kuwait in the first round. The French team had amazing players like Michel Platini and they won that match with a big score of four to one. Abdulaziz Al-Baloushi scored the only goal for Kuwait that day. That big win helped France continue their journey all the way to the end of the tournament although they finally finished in fourth place after losing to Poland.

From the Success of 1998 to the Shock of 2022

Another big moment in France Arab matches happened in 1998 when France hosted the tournament and won their very first World Cup trophy. During the group stage they had to play against Saudi Arabia and won that game four zero with two goals from Thierry Henry. That specific match was full of drama because the famous French star Zinedine Zidane got a red card and was sent off the field alongside a Saudi defender.

Many years later in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar things became even more interesting. Tunisia made history in the list of France Arab matches in 2022 by defeating France one zero in the group stage. Wahbi Khazri scored a beautiful goal to give the Tunisian fans a historic night to celebrate even though France still advanced to the next round.

Later in that same tournament France also won one of the toughest France Arab matches against Morocco in the semifinal. Goals from Theo Hernandez and Randal Kolo Muani stopped the beautiful Moroccan dream of reaching the final. Morocco had become the first African and Arab team to reach the final four but France was just too strong for them that year.

The Modern Era in the 2026 World Cup

In the current 2026 tournament we already saw one of the France Arab matches against Iraq during the group stages. The French squad under Didier Deschamps looked incredibly strong and won the game easily with a three zero score. Kylian Mbappe scored twice and Ousmane Dembele who won the Ballon in 2025 scored the third goal to secure the victory.

Now France is preparing to face Morocco once again in the quarterfinals. History tells us that France does not usually lose at this stage of the competition. The last time they were knocked out in the quarterfinals was back in 2014 when they lost to Germany because of a header by Mats Hummels. Mohamed Wehbe and his Moroccan team know that breaking this French record will require a perfect performance. This upcoming quarterfinal will be the most intense of all France Arab matches so far. The fans in Boston are ready for an amazing night of football and everyone wants to see who wins this latest edition of France Arab matches.
