    Egyptian-Somali Relations Enhanced with New Steps in 2025

    Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates, Badr Abdelatty, highlighted the growing momentum in Egyptian-Somali relations.
    He reaffirmed Cairo’s commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation across key sectors.

    Egyptian-Somali Relations: More Advanced Trade and Investment

    During a meeting with Somalia’s National Security Advisor, Hussein Sheikh-Ali, on the sidelines of Oslo Forum, Minister Abdelatty emphasized Egypt’s keenness to deepen friendly ties with Somalia.

    He pointed to the strategic importance of enhancing collaboration in the political, economic, and security spheres, which are vital for regional peace and development.

    Abdelatty also stressed the need to advance trade and investment partnerships between Egypt and Somalia.

    He referenced the positive outcomes of the Egyptian-Somali Business Forum.
    This forum was held in Cairo in January 2025, as a key step toward boosting mutual economic opportunities.

    Egypt and Somalia Ties Evolved into a Strategic Partnership

    Egyptian Institutions Training Programs

    In the area of capacity building, the Egyptian Foreign Minister expressed hope that Somalia will continue to benefit from training programs provided by Egyptian institutions.
    Reinforcing Egypt’s ongoing support for sustainable development across the Horn of Africa.

    Reiterating Egypt’s longstanding support for Somalia’s stability, Abdelatty confirmed Egypt’s readiness to contribute to the African Union mission aimed at stabilizing Somalia, underlining that Somalia’s security is deeply linked to the stability of the wider region.

    The meeting underscores the strength of Egyptian-Somali relations.
    It also promotes collective security and prosperity on the continent.

    Kenya and Somalia Ties Boosted with New Agreements

    Egypt Solidarity with Somalia

    Recently, and in a significant gesture of regional solidarity and partnership, the Arab Republic of Egypt has dispatched multiple shipments of police uniforms to Somalia.

    The move is part of a broader initiative to boost the security capabilities of the Somali police force, amid ongoing efforts to stabilize the Horn of Africa.
