In a dramatic and dangerous escalation, both Iran and Israel truce have been announced suddenly, following more than 12 days of intense military confrontation.

This comes just two days after U.S. forces crossed what Iran deemed a “red line” by striking three of its major nuclear facilities—an act that triggered urgent regional and international alarm.

A Calculated Iranian Response and a Strike on Al Udeid Air Base

As anticipated, Iran responded by sending indirect messages through intermediaries, signaling that it would launch a symbolic missile strike on the largest U.S. airbase in the Middle East—Al Udeid in Qatar—without causing casualties or major damage.

Qatar, despite the violation of its sovereignty, acted swiftly and played a central mediating role, helping secure the ceasefire deal announced suddenly by U.S. President Donald Trump.

Widespread Relief Following Iran and Israel Truce

The ceasefire was met with regional and global relief, particularly among civilians in Iran and Israel, who had endured continuous bombardment over the past days.

Though welcomed by many, Iran and Israel truce is viewed by analysts not as the beginning of peace, but as the end of one chapter in a long-running conflict.

Netanyahu Agrees to Truce, Credits Trump and the U.S.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he agreed to the U.S.-brokered ceasefire plan announced by President Trump early Tuesday.

A statement from Netanyahu’s office claimed that Israel had achieved its goals by eliminating what it called “the Iranian nuclear and missile threat.”

Netanyahu also thanked President Trump and the United States for their support and partnership in neutralizing the threat.

He added that Israel would respond forcefully to any violations of the ceasefire and is expected to deliver a public statement later in the day.

Trump Declares Conflict Over, Foresees Lasting Peace

In a phone interview with NBC News, President Donald Trump confirmed that the Iran and Israel truce had taken effect and expressed optimism that it would last “forever.”
He declared the conflict “officially over”, even though Iran has not formally confirmed the truce.

Violations Alleged Hours After Iran and Israel Truce

Despite the agreement taking effect, both Iran and Israel accused each other of breaking the truce within hours.
Iranian state television reported that Israel carried out new airstrikes after the ceasefire was announced.

A spokesperson for Iran’s military command claimed that Israel had launched attacks on Iranian territory up until 9:00 a.m. local time.

Meanwhile, the Israeli military said its defense systems had intercepted missiles launched from Iran, just two and a half hours after the ceasefire began.

Iran denied these claims. Armed Forces Chief of Staff General Abdolrahim Mousavi stated that no missiles were fired from Iran toward Israel.

Iran’s Tasnim News Agency accused Israel of engaging in a psychological war aimed at disrupting diplomatic progress.

A Fragile Truce and Unstable Region

Although Iran and Israel truce brought a moment of calm, the lack of formal confirmation from Iran and the continued exchange of accusations raise doubts about the durability of the agreement.

Analysts warn that unless deeper issues are resolved, the current calm could be short-lived, as hostilities between Iran and Israel remain deeply entrenched.
