A bilateral meeting on Somalia’s development, the Governor of Banadir Regional Administration and Mayor of Mogadishu, Dr. Hassan Mohamed Hussein (Muungaab), today received a delegation led by the Head of the European Union Mission in Somalia, Gen. Marco Manzone, at the Mogadishu Municipal Government headquarters.

A bilateral meeting on Somalia’s development, the meeting focused on the programs supported by the European Union to the Banadir Regional Administration, especially those related to security, reconstruction and social services. It was also agreed to strengthen the coherence of these projects with the regional administration’s development plans.

Governor Dr. Muungaab thanked the European Union for its continued support, noting the importance of doubling this support to ensure the implementation of important national programs, including the upcoming Local Council elections.

A bilateral meeting on Somalia’s development, for his part, the Head of the European Union Mission, Gen. Marco Manzone, said that they are pleased with the close cooperation between the Banadir Regional Administration and the Mogadishu Municipal Government, and will continue to support security, reconstruction and state-building efforts in the capital.
STRENGTHENING SUSTAINABLE SECURITY

A bilateral meeting on Somalia’s development, the meeting concluded with an agreement to strengthen bilateral cooperation to ensure sustainable security and sustainable development in the capital city of Mogadishu.
The two officials agreed to further accelerate cooperation on development programs and technical support that enhance social services, so that the people of Mogadishu can benefit from effective opportunities.
