The United Arab Emirates has strongly condemned the recent terrorist bombing that struck a Somali National Army installation in Mogadishu, killing and injuring dozens of recruits.

In a communiqué released by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abu Dhabi:

This time Al-Shabaab terrorism targeted hundreds of young men queued for enlistment, aiming to derail Somalia’s ongoing military build-up before draw-down of African Union Transition Mission troop.
The UAE has been a key humanitarian and development partner for Somalia, providing emergency food, medical aid during droughts and floods.
As well as trainings and equipment for Somali security forces and infrastructure projects that bolster economic resilience.
Today’s condemnation underscores Abu Dhabi’s commitment to:
- Counter-terrorism collaboration with the Federal Government of Somalia.
- Continued financial and technical assistance for stabilization programs.
- Support for regional and international initiatives that promote lasting peace in the Horn of Africa.
