    President Mohamud chaired a high-level Somalia–EU partnership meeting in Mogadishu to strengthen ties and review progress on mutual cooperation. Discussions focused on security, governance, and development support, with the EU reaffirming its commitment to Somalia’s stabilization. The meeting also highlighted joint priorities for upcoming reforms and aid strategies. This engagement underscores Somalia’s ongoing efforts to boost international collaboration.

    President Mohamud Leads Strategic Dialogue with EU Officials

    At the meeting, President Mohamud emphasized the importance of aligning development priorities with EU support. Statistical reviews showed a 15% increase in EU-funded projects in Somalia over the last two years. The dialogue also aimed to expand collaborative governance and security strategies. This reflects a steady rise in mutual diplomatic engagements between Somalia and the EU.

    Focus on Security and Governance Reforms in Partnership Agenda

    Recent reports reveal that over 60% of EU assistance in Somalia is directed toward institutional reforms and security sector development. The partnership agenda prioritized accountability, anti-corruption measures, and decentralized governance. These areas showed a 10% improvement in transparency ratings since the last assessment. The meeting addressed how to sustain these gains through joint monitoring.

    EU Pledges Continued Support for Somalia’s Development Goals

    The EU reaffirmed a financial commitment of over €120 million for Somalia’s 2025 development agenda. Key sectors include education, healthcare, and infrastructure, which currently show an annual growth rate of approximately 8%. Capacity-building programs targeting youth employment and rural development were also spotlighted. The pledges align with Somalia’s National Development Plan targets.

    Somalia–EU Alliance Strengthened Under Leadership of President Mohamud

    Through President Mohamud’s leadership, Somalia has witnessed a 20% rise in bilateral cooperation programs with the EU. These include resilience projects in drought-prone regions and governance training for local administrations. The strengthened alliance also facilitated enhanced trade discussions. This continued partnership marks a strategic advancement in Somalia’s foreign policy direction.
