    Puntland has launched a major counter-terrorism campaign to dismantle militant networks and restore peace in the region. During the operation, security forces targeted militant hideouts and arrested several suspected terrorists, reducing the strength of the terrorist groups.

    These operations have been carried out in areas that are often hotbeds of extremist activities, to prevent future attacks. The Government of Puntland has reiterated its firm commitment to end terrorism and ensure public safety.

    Puntland’s Major Counter-Terrorism Offensive Targets Militant Strongholds

    In the recent counter-terrorism operation in Puntland, 15 key militant hideouts have been destroyed in the last month alone. The operation, with more than 500 security personnel, is aimed at eradicating the insurgent groups that have been carrying out terrorist activities in the region for years.

    According to reports, the operation has resulted in a reduction of about 30 percent in militant activities. As a result of this action, around 10,000 citizens have a safer environment.

    Impact of Puntland’s Major Counter-Terrorism Offensive on Regional Security

    The recent counter-terrorism campaign in Puntland has improved law and order in the region by targeting organized militant groups. During this operation, more than 100 militants were arrested and a large quantity of arms and explosives were recovered.

    As an immediate effect, the incidence of terrorism has been reduced by about 40%. This action has strengthened the government’s position and increased public confidence in security by 25 percent.

    Strategic Gains from Puntland’s Major Counter-Terrorism Offensive Against Extremists

    The recent counter-terrorism campaign has yielded significant territorial gains, during which more than 200 square kilometers of territory has been liberated from militants. The operation has destroyed 75 percent of the militants’ supply routes in the region.

    Following the operation, around 2,000 civilians were evacuated to safer places and more than 500 military personnel were deployed to maintain peace in the area. The campaign significantly reduced the strength of terrorist groups, reducing their influence in the affected areas by 50 percent.
