In a step toward enhancing bilateral cooperation and diplomatic relations, Ambassador Ali Abdi Awari, Somalia’s Ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the Arab League, welcomed Mr. Mohamed Ahmed Amer, the Governor of Banadir Region and Mayor of Mogadishu, at the Somali Embassy in Cairo.
During the meeting, Ambassador Awari provided a detailed briefing on the embassy’s operations.
He also emphasized the urgent need to renovate and rebuild the embassy’s conference hall as a key priority.
Mayor Amer expressed his admiration for the efforts of Somali Embassy in Cairo and pledged continued support to bolster its work.
The visit underscored the importance of institutional strengthening and diplomatic presence in the region.
It also symbolizes a renewed commitment to collaboration between Somali institutions at home and abroad.
