Somali political future is the main topic of conversation in coffee shops and homes across the country as people worry about their rights. There are many serious claims that the current family in power is exploiting state institutions for personal gain rather than helping the public. When the Somali political future is used as a tool for private wealth it makes the average person feel like the system is rigged against them.

This kind of corruption drains the energy out of a nation that is trying to rebuild after years of trouble. Instead of building roads or schools the money seems to be disappearing into the pockets of a few people close to the top which is a huge shame for everyone involved.

Somali political future and the use of state force

The current state of affairs can be broken down into five major points that show how the Somali future is being undermined by those in power today.

    • Exploitation of Institutions and Nepotism: There is deep concern over how the president’s family is using state offices to boost their own personal wealth. When government jobs and contracts go to relatives instead of the most qualified people the Somali future is weakened because the most talented citizens are left on the sidelines while resources are wasted.
    • Using Force Against Regions: Instead of using diplomacy the government is increasingly using weapons to settle scores with regional leaders. This attempt to impose authority by force creates more division and leads to clashes like those seen in the Southwest region. If the Somali future depends on the barrel of a gun it will never be peaceful.
    • Constitutional Crisis and Bribery: The attempt to pass major constitutional amendments unilaterally is a huge problem. Reports of using state funds to bribe members of parliament to support these changes suggest that the Somali political future is being bought and sold. Changing the supreme law of the land without the consent of the regions creates a massive legal mess.
    • Economic Suffering and Land Theft: The deteriorating economic situation is making life impossible for the poor. While society suffers from high living costs there are many reports of the confiscation of Somali-owned land in Mogadishu by powerful people. When citizens feel their property isn’t safe the Somali political future looks very dark for business and investment.

    • Election Delays and Foreign Influence: The constant delay in setting a clear agenda for regional and presidential elections keeps everyone in a state of fear and confusion. This lack of a clear plan allows foreign interventions to have too much say in local decisions. For a healthy Somali political future the people must know when they can vote and be sure that their voices actually matter.

The way the government handles these five points will decide what happens next for the nation. If the leadership continues to use public funds for bribes and force to stay in power the country will stay stuck in a cycle of poverty and violence. The Somali political future must be built on honesty and the rule of law if it is ever going to be bright again.

    Somali Political Future

Moving forward requires a total shift in how power is used in the country today. Every citizen deserves a government that protects their rights and manages their resources honestly. Right now it feels like the current leadership is moving in the opposite direction which leaves many to wonder about the Somali political future.
