    Somalia’s Minister of Communications and Technology, Mohamed Adan Maalim, chaired a high-level meeting at the ministry’s headquarters in Mogadishu on Sunday, October 26, 2025.

    This meeting brought together senior executives from the country’s leading telecommunications companies.

    It focused on improving Somalia telecommunications infrastructure and reinforcing strategic partnerships between the government and the private sector.

    Enhancing Somalia Telecommunications Infrastructure

    During the meeting, participants reviewed the progress Somalia has made in expanding its telecommunications sector.

    The discussion provided an opportunity to assess how far the nation has come in rebuilding communication networks and introducing modern digital solutions.
    Besides identifying the remaining gaps that need collective effort.

    Officials from the telecom industry and the ministry’s Director-General shared insights on overcoming existing challenges and shaping Somalia’s long-term vision for a connected digital future.

    Government Commitment to Digital Transformation

    Minister Mohamed Adan Maalim reiterated the Federal Government’s strong commitment to accelerating digital transformation across Somalia.

    He emphasized that the government’s goal is to build a robust and modern communication framework that supports innovation, inclusivity, and economic growth.

    The minister highlighted that reliable digital services are essential.
    As they are enhancing governance, empowering citizens, and connecting communities nationwide.

    Telecom Companies Role is Important

    The Minister extended his appreciation to the telecommunications companies.
    As they continue to make contributions to the sector’s growth and stability.

    He acknowledged their critical role in maintaining connectivity.
    Especially in challenging times, and in helping to expand digital access for millions of Somalis.

    By return, representatives from the telecom companies praised the Ministry’s leadership and dedication to foster a transparent and collaborative business environment.

    They commended the government’s regulatory efforts, as they said are crucial for maintaining fair competition and improving service quality.
