The Federal Government of Somalia is facing a lot of pressure right now because of many political and security problems that are getting worse every day. People are looking at how things are being run and they are not very happy with the results so far. There are big questions about the elections and if they will actually be fair for everyone involved. It seems like there is a lot of tension between the leaders in the capital and the people living in the different regions. If these things do not change soon the country might face even more trouble in the near future.

Somalia sparks international outcry by blocking regional security teams ahead of Election talks | Somali Guardian

The Federal Government of Somalia and regional election issues

One of the biggest concerns right now is how the government is handling elections in places like Galmudug Hirshabelle and the South West state. Instead of letting people choose who they want it feels like the government is forcing candidates on them that nobody really likes.

This makes it look like the elections are not transparent at all and are just political appointments to keep power in certain hands. When the Federal Government of Somalia acts this way it makes the local people lose trust in the whole system. They want to have a real voice in their future but right now it feels like that voice is being taken away by people in high offices.

The end of the constitutional term in May 2026

There is a very important date coming up which is May 15 2026. This is when the term of President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud is supposed to end according to the constitution. Many people are worried that there might be an attempt to extend this term even though it would not be legal or constitutional. Following the rules is the only way to keep the country stable.

If the Federal Government of Somalia tries to stay in power longer than allowed it could cause a huge political crisis that nobody wants to see right now.

Using special forces for political reasons

Another issue is that the president is being accused of using the special forces for his own political goals. These soldiers were trained by international partners to fight against groups like Al-Shabaab and keep the country safe. But now it seems they are being used to pressure political rivals instead of focusing on the real enemies.

This is a big problem because it weakens the security of the nation. The Federal Government of Somalia should be using every resource to protect the people not to fight with other politicians who disagree with them.

Taking land from citizens in Mogadishu

In the capital city of Mogadishu there are many reports of the government taking land away from regular citizens. People say their property is being seized and then sold off which is basically looting the wealth of the people.

This kind of corruption makes life very hard for families who have lived there for a long time. The Federal Government of Somalia needs to protect the rights of its people instead of taking what belongs to them. When people feel like they can lose their homes at any time it creates a lot of anger and sadness in the community.

The problem of security in all provinces

Security is still a massive mess in Mogadishu and many other provinces across the country. Even with all the talk about making things better the violence and lawlessness are still happening every single day. People do not feel safe going to work or walking in the streets in many areas.

The Federal Government of Somalia has a duty to provide safety but it seems they are too distracted by politics to get the job done. Without real safety nothing else can really improve for the average person living there.

A look at the future for the country

It is clear that things need to change if the country is going to have a peaceful future. The leaders need to start listening to what the people actually want and follow the laws that are already in place. The Federal Government of Somalia has a chance to turn things around if they stop the corruption and focus on fair elections.

If they keep going down this path of forcing candidates and ignoring the constitution the situation will only get worse for everyone. People are waiting to see if there will be real progress or just more of the same old problems.

The Federal Government of Somalia is at a point where every decision matters more than ever before. If they choose to respect the law and the people then maybe things can get better. But if they continue to seize land and use the military for politics the future looks very dark. The Federal Government of Somalia must remember that their job is to serve the public not just themselves. The international community and the local citizens are all watching very closely to see what happens next.

The Federal Government of Somalia needs to act fast to fix these five major points before time runs out. Everyone hopes for peace but it requires honest leadership to make it happen. The Federal Government of Somalia has a lot of work to do to earn back the trust of the nation.
