U.S. President Donald Trump was not awarded 2025 Nobel Peace Prize, despite playing a key role in brokering a historic ceasefire between Israel and Hamas that ended more than two years of conflict.
According to the Norwegian Nobel Committee, the decision had already been made two days before the peace deal was finalized.

Republican Congressman Andy Barr recently nominated Trump for Nobel Peace Prize, describing his record as “extraordinary.”
In a letter to the committee, Barr wrote:
“No global leader made more to advance peace and prosperity in the world better than President Donald Trump.”

Who Got 2025 Nobel Peace Prize?
The 2025 Nobel Peace Prize instead went to Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado, recognized for her commitment to democracy and human rights.
Committee chair Jørgen Watne Frydnes explained on Friday that the decision followed strict guidelines based on the vision of Alfred Nobel, the founder of the prize, saying:
