    The event underscored the importance of unity, state-building, and national sovereignty.

    President Mohamud Calls for Strengthening Somalia’s National Unity

    Addressing the nation during the 65th Independence Day commemoration, President Mohamud urged all Somalis to renew their commitment to national unity, solidarity, and institutional development.

    His message emphasized the need for collective responsibility in preserving the country’s hard-won independence and building a stable future.

    Military Parade Showcases Somalia’s Defense Capabilities

    As Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, the President was joined by General Odowaa Yusuf Rageh, Chief of the Somali National Army.

    The two leaders presided over a ceremonial military parade held at the Daljirka Dahsoon Monument on Maka Al-Mukarrama Road in Mogadishu.

    The parade featured:

    • Aerial displays by the Somali Air Force
    • Naval units and maritime security forces
    • Armored vehicles and tanks from the Somali National Army and Police

    This show of strength highlighted the readiness of Somalia’s defense forces to protect the nation’s sovereignty, security, and unity.
