AUSSOM and FGS, The Minister of Internal Security of the Federal Government of Somalia, Mr. Abdullahi Sheikh Ismail (Fartaag), met in Mogadishu with the Special Representative of the Chairperson of the African Union Commission and Head of the African Union Support Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM), Ambassador El-Hadji Ibrahima Diene, government officials said.
AUSSOM AND FGS: IMPORTANCE OF COORDINATING JOINT ACTIVITIES

AUSSOM and FGS, the meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between AUSSOM and the Federal Government of Somalia, particularly in support of security activities and the implementation of measures to ensure peace and security in the country, according to a press release from the Ministry of Security.
The officials from both sides also discussed the role of AUSSOM in supporting the Somali security forces and the importance of coordinating joint activities to ensure stability in the country, as Somalia is in a transitional phase of transferring security to the national forces.

AUSSOM and FGS, the meeting was attended by the Commissioner of Police of Somalia, General Asad Abdullahi Osman, and the Commissioner of Police of AUSSOM, Hillary Sao Kanu, who discussed the development of the capacity of the Somali Police and future plans for bilateral cooperation.
This meeting comes as the Federal Government and AUSSOM continue their efforts to strengthen security and combat the Al-Shabaab group.
