    EGYPT DEFENCE MINISTER DISCUSSES REGIONAL DEVELOPMENTS WITH SOMALI COUNTERPART

    Egyptian Defense Minister Abdul Majid Saqr and Somali Defense Minister Abdul Qadir Mohamed Noor met in Cairo to discuss regional security and global issues facing Africa. The two ministers agreed to strengthen cooperation in the defense sector, highlighting the depth of historical ties between Egypt and Somalia. Minister Noor praised Egypt’s involvement in the African Union mission in Somalia and emphasized the importance of further cooperation in various military fields.

    Egypt and Somalia Strengthen Military and Strategic Ties

    Somali Defense Minister Abdul Qadir Mohamed Noor met with Egyptian Defense Minister Abdel Majid Saqr in Cairo to further strengthen the close ties between the two countries. In this meeting, the security issues facing Africa and the region were discussed, and the need for cooperation was emphasized. Egypt vowed to continue its constant support for peace and stability in Somalia.

    Discussions on Regional Security and Cooperation in Africa

    The two Defense Ministers discussed key security issues facing Africa and the Horn of Africa, particularly terrorism and other non-traditional threats. In the meeting, joint initiatives and strategies were emphasized to ensure peace and stability in the region. The two leaders agreed that coordinated and effective measures are needed to address these challenges.

    During this time, he also talked about providing security to development projects in the region and removing obstacles in the delivery of humanitarian aid.
