    SOMALIA’S PRESIDENT VISITS ETHIOPIA IN BOOST TO STRAINED RELATIONS

    In January 2025, the Somali president visited Ethiopia. The main purpose of which was to reduce tension. After a year of continuous tension, Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohammed was supposed to end the bilateral tension and strengthen bilateral relations. The tension started with a naval base. Ethiopia signed an agreement with Somalia to establish a naval base.

    However, Somalia saw the agreement as a regional threat, which was detrimental to regional security and stability there. In 2024, it was proposed to resolve the issue through talks between Turkey, and the two countries began to restore relations anew. In 2025, these disputes were resolved through some negotiations, and the two countries made a fresh start to improve relations.

    Historical Context of Ethiopia-Somalia Relations

    Somalia and Ethiopia have important ancient histories. Territorial disputes, especially over the Ogden, indicate their ancient history and relationship. But despite all these disputes, these two countries have economic and financial relations. There is a lack of mutual trust between them, which necessitates cooperation.

    So that both countries can develop economically and economically and improve them. Current conflicts and obstacles have further strained the relationship. For the improvement of this, it is very important to start a new relationship so that the relationship can be strengthened, and the economic development of both countries can be increased.

    Key Agreements and Diplomatic Developments

    The main objective of Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud’s visit is to end the tension in the relationship. Apart from this, territorial and maritime disputes are to be improved and the obstacles in them are to be resolved. The main objective of this visit was to try to restore relations so that economic and economic development can be achieved, and regional security and peace can be maintained.

    Finally, in 2024, these disputes were resolved in the mediation talks held in Turkey. Thus, in 2025, relations between the two countries were improved by resolving the disputes. So that economic and financial security can be established in both countries and economic obstacles can be avoided. Because the solutions to these conflicts are very important for both countries. Because these two countries are deeply connected economically and economically.

    Regional Implications and Future Cooperation
