In a strategic move to strengthen food security and develop its agricultural sector, the Federal Government of Somalia, represented by the Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation, H.E. Mohamed Abdi Hayir “Mareye”, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Minister of Agriculture of Azerbaijan, H.E. Majnun Mammadov.
This agreement marks the beginning of a new phase of bilateral cooperation in agriculture between the two nations.

To support human resource development, the agreement includes agricultural scholarships for Somali students in Azerbaijani universities and institutions.
