    Mogadishu Hosts the National Food and Agriculture Investment Conference: A Strategic Step Toward Food Security and Sustainable Development

    Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia, hosts the National Food and Agriculture Investment Conference on October the 1st from every year.

    The event is organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation.
    It aims to boost investments in the agricultural sector which is a vital pillar to achieve food security and sustainable economic development in the country.

    Goals of the National Food and Agriculture Investment Conference:

    The conference focuses on exploring opportunities for investment in agriculture.
    As well as sharing ideas and strategies to improve agricultural production and marketing.

    It also aims to strengthen international cooperation to support sustainable development in this crucial sector.

    As it is important for agricultural investment, economic growth and job creation.

    National Food and Agriculture Investment Conference – Challenges and Opportunities

    Despite the challenges facing Somalia’s agricultural sector, such as climate change and security instability, the country has over 8 million hectares of arable land.
    Less than 1% of these lands are currently being utilized.

    This conference represents a significant step toward attracting investment to unlock this potential and ensure food security.
