The Somali National Army (SNA) has carried out a successful counterterrorism operation in the Howlwadaag neighborhood of Aadan Yabaal district, targeting and destroying two key facilities operated by the Al-Shabaab militant group.
According to security sources, the military operation struck two critical Al-Shabaab bases:
- A facility used to prepare and equip vehicles with explosives for attacks.
- A weapons storage site containing arms and logistical supplies for militant use.
Eyewitnesses reported that one of the sites was engulfed in flames, signaling a direct hit and extensive damage to Al-Shabaab’s military capabilities in the area.
Strategic Victory Against Al-Shabaab in Aadan Yabaal
Military officials have described the operation as a significant tactical gain in the broader campaign to weaken Al-Shabaab’s presence in Middle Shabelle region.
The destruction of these facilities is expected to severely disrupt the group’s operational planning and logistics in the area.
